Well-known British actor Tim Pigott-Smith dies at 70

Renowned veteran British actor Tim Pigott-Smith departs this life at the age of 70.

Appeared in blockbusters including ‘Quantum of Solace’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Pigott-Smith was best known for his role in the 1984 mini-series ‘The Jewel in the Crown’.

With a career spanning almost 50 years, the late actor was officially praised for services to drama in the UK last month.

He made his debut in 1971 in the TV movie ‘Life of Johnson’ and appeared in early series of ‘Doctor Who’.

The recently departed actor's agent, John Grant, said in a release, “Tim was one of the great actors of his generation. Much-loved and admired by his peers, he will be remembered by many as ... a true friend.”
